This article provides detail on the settings to adjust the spam filtering aggressiveness to match your needs.
All messages flagged as spam by the Kayako Spam Filter can be found under the agent area as Suspended Messages.
You can change your spam settings using APIs changing the settings from 1 to 10.
Note: ( 1 - 10 ) 1 = more aggressive checks, 10 = spam filter effectively off
E.g. If your client's emails are getting stuck in the spam filter when they shouldn't, you would need to increase the value. Likewise, if your Inbox is starting to pile up Spam emails, you would need to reduce the value.
In the example below, we are going to use the Postman API client to change the spam settings.
- Open the Postman API Client.
- Under the Builder Tab, Use Following Details
Method - PUT
Authorization type - Basic Auth
Username - your username to access Kayako admin
Password - your password to access Kayako admin
- In the body of the request, add the following:
Make sure you select the type as JSON (application/json), as by default that type is not selected.
Press 'Send' and it will return 200 OK for successful request.
Note: You can check your current spam score with the GET command, make sure to remove the body settings and hit send.
You can also change your spam effectiveness with APIs.
Note: Allowing Email Through Kayako Spam Filter can be done using the Email Safelist.
